The aim of this project is to help people especially with dementia to connect their memory with the music. Some studies show that musical memory is a form of implicit memory, usually hardwired into the brain unless prone to the changes in the brain which usually herald dementia. This is an interactive website that can help people keep their memories through music and art. It is a diary, but instead of using text, you use images to describe the scenario from the memory. The user can also make their own “video diary” through the website.

I did some user tests and asked users to tell me their memories that are related to the questions. And ask them to pick music that remind them the memories. After that, I show them 40 paintings and asked them to pick the paintings that are related to their memories. By doing this research, I can find out the relationships between users’ music, memories and paintings. And which type of paintings will users pick most, will the portrait be easier to present the memory or abstract art?

These are the result from the user research.

The user flow helped me to plan out the user journey.

Here are some interfaces from the project.
